American Apparel

Okay, so these are probably my new favourite polishes, and I can't wait to get my hands on more of them!! I bought 3 because it was a 3 for $18 deal, (why is it 3 for $15 in the States? our $ is pretty much the same!) Oh well, still it was a good deal! $6 each!
So the ones I bought were Office Gray, Peacock, and Butter! It was my first Gray polish so I'm really excited! I also want to compare Peacock with some of the other colours I have.

Butter

Factory Grey

Peacock

They all had amazing application, and only took about 1-2 coats! Amazing! They dried reasonably fast too which is great!

I was reading some blogs yesterday and I learned to try to avoid putting polish near the cuticles to make removal easier, so next time I think I will try that, and hopefully have a better result. But I think I am improving!

Peacock was my favourite, I didn't want to take it off!!

What is your favourite American Apparel polish? Which ones should I get next?

Thanks for reading!
Happy Saturday! :)

It's my only day off work - back to work tomorrow - so I'm gonna enjoy it!!!!

I almost forgot! Tonight is the Black Eyed Peas Concert!!!!

haul!!

Alright so I wanted to hold off on buying more polishes until the new OPI Swiss collection came out... but uh.. as we all know temptation is a bitch! So I went to the place where I get my eyebrows done, and across the street is American Apparel, so I'm like OF COURSE I have to go buy those! Then I went to Subway for lunch and on the way was a Shoppers Drug Mart - so OF COURSE I had to go in! And my salon place HAD to sell color club polish so OF COURSE who ends up buying them? ME. UGH!!
Color Club: Orange Revenge and Electro Candy

American Apparel: Butter, Peacock, Factory Grey

Orly: La Playa + Top 2 Bottom
These were all firsts to my collections! I am for sure going to buy more AA polishes and ORLY I want to try the Plastix collection. However, I do not think that Color Club was a value for my money and I would rather stick to the other polish brands!
Guess where I got Orly? Shoppers! Who knew they sold them there? I had to take a picture!

The one missing from the box is the one I took... I guess it's not very popular here yet?!
Swatches to come soon! :)

What is your favourite American Apparel polish?

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful weekend!!

ps: still need nail ideas for Black Eyed Peas tomorrow!

pss: still adding people to my blog roll!

for audrey konad

I've been wanting to use this Konad plate for a while now, but I wasn't sure how it would look since it is such a delicate pattern. I was quite pleased with how this turned out! It's very elegant and would work perfectly for a wedding!
So I used the rose design from this plate:

Essie Resort Collection

HEY!
so the first polishes I tested from my haul were the Essie polishes, they are 3 lovely shades of purple, blue and green, and I am in LOVE with them all!!! I'm not really a fan of doing swatches, probably because I am not super good at them yet!

From L to R Lapis of Luxury, Splash of Grenadine, Mint Candy Apple

This applied very nicely, in about 3-4 coats, it was pretty thin, as you can see on the pinky, I got a bit lazy and did not do enough coats!

The purple is such a nice colour, I can't think of any polishes that I have that could be compared (although my collection is quite limited compared to some of yours!) so if you know any polish that is similar let me know! This one had the best application out of the 3 for me! Excuse the blue polish on the ring finger! :)

This one was my FAVOURITE, that is until I put it on! I wanted to show you how gloppy it was, that is why I didn't fix the first two fingers, I feel like polish shouldn't do that! It should be easy application! Love the colour though! I'm gonna work on fixing this one, I probably should do thinner coats!!

Hope you liked them! Do you have any from this collection? "The Resort Collection"? Which ones are your favourite?

Hope you had a great Tuesday!

Thanks for reading !!!!! :)

i'm back! + polish haul

I'm still alive and back with LOTS of new polish! My trip to Toronto was great, my mom and I helped my aunt fix up her apartment and reorganize and buy new stuff! I also went shopping and got some awesome stuff! Mostly nail related too :)
So here are pictures of everything I got and swatches and konads to come :)
I also had ordered 4 things which all were waiting for me when I arrived! 4 polishes from amazon - three Essie, one OPI, Konad special polishes black, white, and blue, orange sticks, and finally a China Glaze polish.
I now own NINE China Glaze polishes - finally!! (there are more that I want so I want to order them today!)
So here is a list of everything I got, as well as pictures!

water marbling fun!

HELLO! wow I cannot believe how many followers I have and it's been only like 4 days?!!?
THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!!! <3
I'm sorry I didn't post yesterday, a kid in my class cried and screamed for her ENTIRE lesson - the most shrill cry EVER and I had the biggest headache so I decided to sleep! (I teach swimming lessons btw, if you didn't figure that out!) ugh, so annoying! Anyways, so I did this one on Monday, I also did two of the other girls who work at the pool's nails, sadly no pictures but they turned out sweet and now like the entire staff just talks about water marbling - it's quite entertaining to explain water marbling to boys!
so anyways, this was just like random cuz I knew it wouldn't last long (damn chlorine) but here it is:
from L to R: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Whirlwind White, Wet n Wild Black Creme, OPI That's Berry Daring, Sally Hansen White Tip, OPI Top Coat

I apologize for the mess, I had to quickly run back to work and had no time to clean up! :(
I used the Insta-dri as a basecoat as used the other three colours in the water marbling itself, followed by a top coat! There is a theme eh? The OPI That's Berry Daring appears in all my water marbles!

Anyways, I know I'm not a professional and my swatches and pictures and designs are not as good as most of yours, but I like the flaws and I hope you don't mind them!!

I'm going to Toronto tomorrow until Sunday so I won't be able to post but I plan on buying as much polish as I can without my mom thinking I'm crazy, so more posts to come soon fo sho! :)

Have a good weekend!
Thanks for reading :)

joe fresh swatches

so here they are !
the three polishes I purchased were Espresso, Fig, and Coral.
From L to R Fig, Espresso, Coral

This is coral, and the one I was for sure the most excited to try, but it disappointed me because it had a pretty liquidy consistancy which was disappointing! But 3 coats later, it looks pretty nice!

Espresso, I was not sure about because it was my first brown polish, but it's pretty nice, this is 3 coats the application is very thin, but the end sparkley brown result is not bad!

This one had to be my favourite! The application was super easy and the colour is great! This is Fig btw.

So I didn't end up going to American Apparel today, sadly, but I am going to Toronto on Thursday and I plan on buying loads of new nail polish, especially China Glaze because I am in LOVE already and I don't own any! (No sellers that I can find in Montreal!) I bought one online, which will probably come after my trip but that's okay! I am going to get American Apparel polishes though they look so nice! probably next week!

Thanks for reading!

Hello! I'm glad that I am getting a few more followers, this blogging thing is super addicting!
So what I have today is a cute little summery konad design actually it's a bundle monster plate BM12 + Sally Hansen Insta-Dri #31 Speedy Sunburst
This colour is quite unique, I'm not quite sure what colour it really is.. it's a mix between red, pink, and orange? Anyways, if you know what colour it is, LET ME KNOW!

Hope you like it!
I'm not super good at taking pictures yet, but I'm working on it!

Other news:

Today I bought some JOE Fresh nail polish - for the other Canadians out there how great is joe fresh!? Loblaws (Loblaws in Quebec and Ontario, other places it's the Superstore!) is for sure my favourite grocery store and they have clothes and now beauty! YAY!
Tomorrow, I'm going to go buy my first American Apparel polishes - Cannot wait!
All swatches to come :)

Thanks for reading!

water marbling attempt

Okay, so I read a lot of nail blogs, and watched tutorials, and I decided to step into the water marbling world, and I LOVE IT! I find it so simple yet with such a great affect, I got the most comments that I have ever gotten! I love it! They are so surprised that I did them myself.

This was my first attempt! Excuse the access polish, I was super excited and I had to take a picture! The polish I used was OPI That's Berry Daring (I think!) and a Sally Hansen white.

So then a few days later I decided to try again:
Again, excuse the access polish!
For this I used all OPI - That's Berry Daring, No Room For The Blues, Need Sunglasses, and Atomic Orange!
It turned more stripey rather than a marbley effect, but that's okay it was still awesome!
I think those colours look amazing together, and I had to take a picture of them together!
(from left to right - Atomic Orange, No Room For the Blues, Need Sunglasses, and That's Berry Daring)

I'm a fan of simple creme colours like these, rather than shimmery, sparkely colours, but everyone has their own opinion!

And then the one I did after, I forgot to take a picture of, but I used OPI Jade Is The New Black and just some old Sally Hansen white. This combination for sure got me the post compliments I had SO many people ask me how to do them! I even had someone draw a diagram so she could remember and then duplicate at home!

I love water marbling and I think it's such a great technique! I'm curious to know how it got started! Did someone just say, "Oh I wonder what happens when I put nail polish in water?" bahahhaha, does anyone know how water marbling got started?

On a quick side note - I work at a pool as my part-time job (not really so part-time in the summer cuz I'm there pretty much everyday) but I find that water marbling lasts so much longer in the pool! (irony?) but it's so great because I don't have to worry about it chipping when I'm in the pool!

Well, that's all for now! More tomorrow!

pink essie leopard!

So this was one of my first nail designs, I used konad m57 and Essie Perky Purple. my favourite thing about it is that it's matte, i think that makes it look so nice!
hope you like it! :)

first post!

Wow, okay so I've been wanting to do this for a while now, I don't think I will have any followers.. but I wanted somewhere to post my designs because I have so much fun doing them, and I wanted to learn and share what I know! :) hope you like it!
