Purple Plaid

hi!
Today I have a Studio M polish called Frenzy. I'm not sure where these are available, but definitely in the US, I've never seen them in Canada though! This purple is darker than OPI Do you Lilac It and lighter than China Glaze Grape Pop. It's probably similar to OPI A Grape Fit, which I don't have so I can't compare!

I then used my konad plate m60 and used the plaid pattern with Nicole by OPI Positive Energy. It was my first time using this design, and to get straight lines it was pretty tricky! I for sure need to practise!

The pictures with the stamping are NOT colour accurate, but the pictures without the stamping are pretty close to accurate! I don't know why, but when I stamped it looks more blue and is coming out wayy more blue on camera than in person! Oh well, you get the idea! :)

Hope you all had a fabulous long weekend those of you in Canada or USA!

Don't forget to enter my giveaway, it closes on Sunday and the winner will be chosen on Monday and polishes sent out in about a week! :)

Thanks for reading!

What I used:
Thanks for reading!
What do you think about water marbling? What are your favourite colours to water marble with?

ps: possible giveaway at 300 subs! After I get back from DC though!

Deborah Lippman Bad Romance

Okay, so I know that everyone has seen these polishes and everyone loves them and guess what? I LOVE IT TOO! I had some removal issues, but the wear and application was pretty good! It was hard to get all the hexagonal glitters but if you are patient and move the brush around you will eventually find them!

The $24 (inc. tax) spent on this polish was worth it. I keep it in the box, and it goes on top of my storage boxes because this polish doesn't deserve to sit with the polishes that are less than $10 which pretty much they all are!

Okay, so when I removed this polish (not sure if anyone else as experianced this or not) but THIS is what happened:
I thought it was really funny so I had to take a picture, excuse my nasty nails! The difficult hexagonal glitters didn't want to get off!!!

On another note my Viva La Nails sample pack came in! Has anyone done reviews and then received more products to review like they say they will do?
Hope you guys had a great Saturday, and have a wonderful Sunday! We did errands today and man are those Saturday drivers crazy!!
Thanks for reading!!

ps: I am selling one of my textbooks, and don't you think that money should be used for a Chanel polish before I leave?? I leave on Thursday btw, so no blogging while I'm getting settled in!

China Glaze Flying Dragon

Okay, so I got this polish in my first swap, it was huge lemming (so thank you Karen!)
Flying Dragon is a purple neon polish with blue, pink, and purple micro glitter! This gives a bumpy effect and since it's a neon it's a dries matte! I didn't put a top coat on because I like the matte effect! You could put a matte top coat on for a longer wear.

Here is a bottle picture (click!):

A big thank you to all of you who have entered my giveaway! There are already over 40 entries, and I have about 20 new followers and it's only been one day! I might end the giveaway earlier than Sept 15, I just am not sure when I am going to be settled in at my new home!

Today I got a manicure to celebrate being done work! (yesterday was my last day!) I got Orly Grape Crush, pictures to come another day!!

opi swiss

Thank you all for the lovely comments you have been leaving me! I'm almost at 100 followers, so today I have to finish buying the polishes and get ready for the giveaway! (it'll be my first giveaway ever, hope it goes well!) Of course this will be open to international readers as well since I hate not being allowed to enter giveaways!

Today I have swatches for the 3 OPI Swiss that I purchased (I know you have seen them many many times, but here is my take on them!) I LOVE ALL OF THEM!
Ski Teal We Drop, Diva Of Geneva, and William Tell Me About OPI

Two pictures of Ski Teal We Drop, great application, love the color!

Diva of Geneva, does this count as red? Oh well I actually like it!
William Tell Me About OPI, Not exactly sure what to call this colour? purpely brown? plum? Anyways whatever it is its great! I thought it looked nice with one coat as well (on the thumb)

All this polishes had great application, and I love the colors! I ordered Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous so I can't wait to try that one!

the end of purple week!

Okay so I get bored really easily, and so of course I'm bored of "purple week" (bad idea in the first place) so here are the rest of my purples!

Louvre Me Louvre Me Not

This purple was a bit difficult to capture the exact colour, but I am sure you guys all already have this color! 2 coats

Next up:
Purple With A Purpose
A must have for purple lovers! Similar to Nicole by OPI Virtuous Violet

Last:
We'll Always Have Paris Suede
I loved the idea of this suede thing because I love matte polishes, but this was a fail. This polish ships really fast since you can't put a top coat on! I suppose you could do a top coat / polish sandwich to make it last?

Okay, that's all of my OPI purples! Hope you liked 'em

I am waiting for so many polishes to come in the mail, I feel like I will need to buy another storage box.. uh oh!

Have a great day!

ps: On Thursday I am going to Ottawa with the fam jam so no posts this weekend!
Please comment !

purple week! day 1

Okay so I decided to swatch all my purple OPI's and write about each of them!
The first one is Do You Lilac It?

application = smooth
coats = 2-3

It's a must have if you like light purple! I'm sure it goes great with my skin tone, but I still like wear it!

Any dupes out there?

What's your favourite purple polish?

Thanks for reading!

I am going to go watch Step-Up 3D! I am excited to have some time to just relax, I feel like I have been going places and working and doing stuff for days straight with no rest!!!

ps: I'm expecting A LOT of polish in the mail in the next few weeks, hopefully it all comes before I move! No more ordering online until I move though, I don't want it sitting here for months until I come back for thanksgiving!

China Glaze Grape Pop has been a lemming (did you know a lemming is a small rodent?) of mine ever since I saw it. When I heard it was the same as funkey dunkey, I decided to choose China Glaze over OPI (It was cheaper!). As many of you have said, Grape Pop is your favourite purple, I must agree!
One of the great things about this polish, besides the application, is the fact that it looks so different in different lights. I tried to capture the different shades, hopefully you see it! Last night I was at a friends house, and it was thundering, and my polish looked almost black like OPI Siberian Nights.

Today I did a konad with m64 and GOSH Gold, it is a very subtle konadicure, but I love it! (On the thumb I used OPI Do You Liliac It? But it was too light for my liking so I switched to the gold). Konading GOSH was actually a lot easier than I was expecting! I'll be using the gold to konad a lot more!

ps: I WON THE MAD AS A HATTER AUCTION! pictures to come later, it's quite a bundle! The seller just needs to figure out how much shipping to Canada will be, and then I will make an official post :)

Thursday, August 5, 2010

uh oh.. another blue polish??

Yesterday, I received a long awaited gift (well I ordered it last Monday!)
China Glaze Grape Pop, Towel Boy Toy, and Matte Magic! No one told me Matte Magic was so tiny, but that's okay I love matte polish!

So as we all know, I'm a sucker for blues! So I had to try it out! I know it's not new and everyone owns it but I LOVE IT! I'm sure I have similar blues, but this is so nice! it looks great matte and shiny! It's about 3-4 coats for complete opaqueness but totally worth it! Here are my pics

Here it looks kinda matte to give you an idea (this was with top coat seche vite!)

Today I took off towel boy toy and put on Grape Pop! I also got a pedicure, I get bad in-growns and I have had surgery twice, but nothing seems to work! It was CND China Rose, with a coat of this sparkly stuff she had (unnamed) Hope you don't think my feet are gross! I think I have pretty nice feet compared to some people! I see a lot of feet at the pool hahaha

I hope everyone had a great day !
I'm bidding on ebay for OPI Mad As A Hatter, wish me luck!!

ps: giveaway at 100 followers (unless I'm moving that time) !! FOLLOW ME!

Essie Resort Collection

HEY!
so the first polishes I tested from my haul were the Essie polishes, they are 3 lovely shades of purple, blue and green, and I am in LOVE with them all!!! I'm not really a fan of doing swatches, probably because I am not super good at them yet!

From L to R Lapis of Luxury, Splash of Grenadine, Mint Candy Apple

This applied very nicely, in about 3-4 coats, it was pretty thin, as you can see on the pinky, I got a bit lazy and did not do enough coats!

The purple is such a nice colour, I can't think of any polishes that I have that could be compared (although my collection is quite limited compared to some of yours!) so if you know any polish that is similar let me know! This one had the best application out of the 3 for me! Excuse the blue polish on the ring finger! :)

This one was my FAVOURITE, that is until I put it on! I wanted to show you how gloppy it was, that is why I didn't fix the first two fingers, I feel like polish shouldn't do that! It should be easy application! Love the colour though! I'm gonna work on fixing this one, I probably should do thinner coats!!

Hope you liked them! Do you have any from this collection? "The Resort Collection"? Which ones are your favourite?

Hope you had a great Tuesday!

Thanks for reading !!!!! :)

joe fresh swatches

so here they are !
the three polishes I purchased were Espresso, Fig, and Coral.
From L to R Fig, Espresso, Coral

This is coral, and the one I was for sure the most excited to try, but it disappointed me because it had a pretty liquidy consistancy which was disappointing! But 3 coats later, it looks pretty nice!

Espresso, I was not sure about because it was my first brown polish, but it's pretty nice, this is 3 coats the application is very thin, but the end sparkley brown result is not bad!

This one had to be my favourite! The application was super easy and the colour is great! This is Fig btw.

So I didn't end up going to American Apparel today, sadly, but I am going to Toronto on Thursday and I plan on buying loads of new nail polish, especially China Glaze because I am in LOVE already and I don't own any! (No sellers that I can find in Montreal!) I bought one online, which will probably come after my trip but that's okay! I am going to get American Apparel polishes though they look so nice! probably next week!

Thanks for reading!
